Nikki Beach Barbados to Open June 1

Barbados will soon be home to a Nikki Beach restaurant and beach club on June 1, becoming only the second Caribbean destination to have a Nikki Beach on the island.

At an event in New York City Thursday night, Travel Agent chatted with Bernard Sarme, group general manager of the Port Ferdinand Luxury Resort and Residences, and learned that luxury marina hotel signed a contract last week to have Nikki Beach Barbados on property. St. Barth's is the only other Caribbean island to have a Nikki Beach presence.

"We basically own it, but we don't own it," says Sarme, noting that Port Ferdinand owns the building that Nikki Beach will operate out of, but does not own the Nikki Beach name.

Travel Agent feels that this will be a great amenity for guests staying at Port Ferdinand. The hotel is naturally suited for a luxury traveler with a love for yachts, tasty cuisine and some of the best views on the island. And now there will be one of the addition of one of trendiest beach club companies in the world.

The resort is about an hour from the Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI). Port Ferdinand guests get special VIP meet-and-greet service that fast-tracks them through customs.

Neighboring historic Speightstown, Port Ferdinand, located in the Parish of St. Peter, is a 16-acre enclave on the northwest coast of Barbados. Developed by UNNA Luxury Resorts & Residences, Port Ferdinand provides discerning homebuyers with a blend of homeownership, amenities and five-star service.

In 1998, entrepreneur Jack Penrod introduced the world to Nikki Beach, which is said to be the first and original luxury beach club concept that combines the elements of music, dining, entertainment, fashion, film and art into one.
