Tour Op City Wonders Donates Ticket Sales to Notre Dame Restoration

European day tour operator City Wonders is contributing to the restoration of Notre Dame. The company says that it will donate €2.00 (approximately $2.24) for each guest participating in the company's “Notre-Dame & Historical Paris Walking Tour” to the Notre Dame restoration fund.

The tour will visit the historic sites on Île de la Cité from the outside and be hosted by one of City Wonders’ expert Notre Dame, guides who will share the story of this natural island at the heart of Paris and the latest developments in the restoration of the cathedral.

As reported last week, a fire broke out at Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, one of the city’s most famous landmarks, on April 15. The fire caused the collapse of the cathedral’s central spire, although firefighters were able to save the main structure, bell towers, and a number of major works of art, some of which had been moved recently as part of restoration efforts.

Other travel industry organizations are also donating to the restoration efforts; in a statement provided to Travel AgentTravel Leaders Group CEO Ninan Chacko said that the organization’s travel advisors are raising funds through the Tzell and Protravel Foundation. Additionally, Travel Leaders Group will match the amount raised. The Pinault family, which owns Ponant, as well as Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, has also pledged to donate to the rebuilding efforts.
