Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and NYC & Company officials released the city's official visitor forecast for 2006. Visitor numbers are expected to increase 4.5 percent this year to a record 43.3 million. According to Cristyne L. Nicholas, president and CEO of NYC & Company, the city is outpacing the nation in terms of growth from key visitor markets.
