Obama to Attend Sin City Fundraiser

Sin City is still simmering over President Obama’s remarks that taxpayer bailout money shouldn’t be used to fund business meetings in Las Vegas. While Obama hasn’t actually apologized, we may be entering into “actions are bigger than words” territory. Word is out that Obama is planning to visit Las Vegas on May 26 to participate in a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Political insiders expect the president to comment on the importance of leisure and business travel to our economy and our way of life. A few choice words from the president during the fundraiser could go a long way towards smoothing ruffled feathers in Vegas. After all, Nevadans were big supporters of Obama and handed him the state by 20 percentage points in last year’s presidential election.
