Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort in Bahamas Reinvents Itself

Grand Lucayan, Bahamas and former Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort, has changed more than its name this season. While the name change will roll out across all channels by September 1, the resort is already rolling out some new offerings.

From small bites to gourmet fare, there is something to satisfy every palate at one of nine dining establishments. Iries Bar offers live entertainment and now serves specialty handmade pizzas with one particular favorite island creation: Conch Salad Pizza. Guests will also get a true taste of the local cuisine with the resort’s new Bahamian Night which takes place every Friday night at Willy Broadleaf’s restaurant: buffet-style dinner includes fresh seafood and tasty delights such as Guava Duff (steamed guava pudding) and Bahamian Bread Pudding.

Every night at 6 p.m. guests can participate in Bahamian tradition with the Junkanoo parade consisting of colorful costumes and rhythmic dancing to the sound of goombay drums, cowbells and whistles. Junkanoo provides guests with a taste of this cultural extravaganza that takes place on Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and the summer throughout the Bahamas.
