Phuket's Record-Breaking Year

Phuket, Thailand topped its own charts in 2010 with a record-breaking arrival of 3.5 million travelers, showing a 22 percent growth over the previous year.

Throughout the year the area added 1,389 keys, which is an increase of 3.2 percent for Phuket's existing 43,036 registered rooms. Air traffic showed a growth of 28 percent over 2009.

Future plans for Phuket include 5,749 more rooms.
