Quito Launches New International Tourism Campaign

The Quito Visitors’ Bureau has announced a new international marketing campaign to attract more Americans and Europeans. It will promote the attractions of this historic city which was named UNESCO’s first World Heritage site in 1978.

The integrated campaign to include advertising, public relations, social media and travel trade activities will be launched in the U.S., Germany, Spain and the U.K.

The U.S. campaign will feature traditional and digital advertising and a public relations campaign with a social media component. An initiative focused on the rade will include agent seminars and agent familiarization trips. Quito aims to recruit more tour operators to sell the destination and to encourage other operators to expand their stays in the Ecuadorean capital.

This year, Quito is celebrating its status as the American Capital of Culture with a full calendar of concerts, festivals, fairs and events showcasing Ecuadorian folklore, jazz, sacred music and much more.
