Redesigned Anguilla Golf Club to Open on April 1

Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) and Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club have announced the remastering of the Aurora International Golf Club (formerly CuisinArt Golf Club) and the addition of a nine-hole Signature Short Course. Aurora International is Anguilla’s only golf course, which is set to debut on April 1, 2022.

Originally opened in 2006, the golf course has undergone a complete tee-to-green redesign. The restoration is being overseen personally by Greg Norman and his longtime senior designer Jason McCoy.

“It is an honor and a privilege to return to Anguilla to modernize and restore one of our most iconic projects in the Caribbean,” said Greg Norman in a press note. “Our primary objective is that the course continues to be recognized among the best golf courses in the Islands for years to come. Aurora International Golf Club has the optimal characteristics for a championship golf course and following the renovation, will be able to host world-class tournaments. We look forward to unveiling the course to members and guests around the world in 2022.”

The new course reflects strategic design changes that aim to enhance both its playability and sustainability. Aurora International saw extensive updates including tee-to-green re-grassing, utilizing Latitude Bermuda for fairways, approaches, and tee surfaces and surrounds. Greens have been re-surfaced with Tif-Eagle Bermuda. The remastering also includes a complete reconstruction of the green complexes and tees, a total renovation of the irrigation system, as well as several architectural updates. Golfers will enjoy an additional forward tee location and new strategic bunker locations throughout the course.

Following the debut of the championship course, a new GNGCD nine-holes Signature Short Course, will be introduced in Summer 2022 for golfers and families who are new to the sport. The first hole opens with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the course unfolds with a rich variety of shot angles, distances, and carefully integrated design elements to make it playable and fun for new golfers.

The Golf Club will include spacious practice facilities, fully outfitted locker rooms for men and women, spaces for recovery therapies, a full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and more.

Aurora International Golf Club also offers a membership program. Director of Golf Operations Scott DeLong will oversee the club and the membership program.
