The InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino is in the process of refurbishing its casino, which hasn’t been upgraded since 2003, but will remain open during the construction.
The refurbishment includes new design, carpeting, lighting and new state-of-the-art slot machines from four different gaming vendors— International Game Technology, Aristocrat, WMS Gaming and Atronic— some of which have been installed. The renovation of the casino begins September 21 and will be done in three phases over the course of 90 days.
The casino (described as an important amenity for hotel guests and locals) represents about 25 percent of the hotel’s total revenue and employs over 100 people.
The Intercontinental San Juan Resort & Casino features 402 guestrooms, a variety of restaurants, a lagoon-shaped swimming pool with cascade, a full-service Spa and Fitness Center, and an 8,500-square-foot casino.
