The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced a new mid-market hotel in Tunisia. The current Hotel Riu Park El Kebir will be rebranded as the Park Inn Hammamet Hotel and open in 2012, following a full renovation. It will be Rezidor’s third hotel in the country, following the group’s opening of the Park Inn Ulysse Resort & Thalasso.

The new Park Inn Hammamet will feature a 300-meter beachfront, as well as four outdoor and one indoor swimming pools. The property will also offer guests four tennis courts, two kids' clubs and an extensive Thalasso Spa. The property will feature 273 comfortable guest rooms and suites, along with 63 villas, making it an ideal destination for families and friends.

Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of Rezidor, said, "We are delighted to further strengthen our presence in Tunisia and to come to Hammamet - one of North Africa's first and most popular resort destinations. It is a pleasure for us to start our cooperation with the CARTE insurance group which owns the new hotel, and we look forward to further joint projects.”
