East West Partners—developer of resorts at ski locations such as Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Vail—has selected Ritz-Carlton to operate a new five-star luxury hotel in Lake Tahoe. The Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe will feature 172 rooms at The Highlands, which is a new community of ski-in/ski-out residences. The $300-million resort will start construction this summer and is expected to open late 2009 with ski-in/ski-out access, a full-service spa, pools, meeting and event space, and access to the Village at Northstar via a gondola ride.
