Insider Access: Most Romantic Paris Hot Spots

We all know Paris is the city of love, and what could be more romantic than sipping Champagne or dining on an outdoor terrace or rooftop in summer?

Below is a list of our favorites.

Hotel Particulier Montmartre

Hidden behind a private courtyard enclosed with iron gates in Montmartre is a secret garden terrace. Once a glorious 19th century mansion, Hotel Particulier Montmartre is now a small boutique hotel and restaurant. The highlight of the hotel is the 10,000 square foot garden, one of the largest private outdoor spaces in Paris. The manicured garden is lined white wrought iron café tables and chairs and in the evening, candles are lit to create an intimate atmosphere. Louis Benech, who was the landscape artist of the famed Tulieries Garden, conceived the layout of the garden.

Maison Blanche

High above the Art Deco Champs Elysees Theatre on the Ave Montaigne is the Maison Blanche restaurant and club. The rooftop restaurant is one of the most elegant in Paris, with panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower, Invalides and the Seine River. The sprawling 5,000 square foot space is laid out on two floors. The first floor has windows and a glass covered roof facing the west of Paris, and the next floor has more expanded views with the bar changing between various colors at night. Executive Chef Fabrice Giraud, who worked with Alain Ducasse, has developed a signature menu of reworked French classics.

Club Montaigne is a chic club open on the weekend starting at 12:30AM, featuring international DJ’s. Perhaps a romantic kiss is appropriate when the Eiffel Tower twinkles its special lights on the hour after dark.

Le Orangerie Marble Courtyard at Four Seasons Hotel George V

The posh Four Season Hotel George V redesigned the courtyard garden in 2015. Artistic director Jeff Leatham has created a garden of earthly delights using stunning fuchsia climbing orchids surrounded by classic boxwood shrubs and orange trees. The intimate space only holds 20 people, perfect for some romantic privacy. Awarded a Michelin star in 2017, Chef David Bizet offers a contemporary take on modern French cuisine.

Mini Palais

Set in the outdoor terrace of the Grand Palais, with soaring Greek limestone columns and walls encrusted with gorgeous mosaics, is the Mini Palais bar and restaurant. Decorated with rattan chairs and furniture and potted palm trees, the smart and sexy terrace is an ideal spot to have a cool drink, a light snack or a summer meal. The terrace overlooks the Pont Alexander, the most beautiful bridge crossing the Seine, and the splendid Petit Palais.

Hotel National des Arts et Metiers

Another hidden gem rooftop terrace is on top of the Metropolitan Arts et Metiers Hotel. Located in the northern Marais, the Metropolitan Arts et Metiers Hotel attracts hipster movers and shakers with its chic rooms, as well as its trendy bar and restaurants. Le Bar sur le Toit is on the top floor, with expansive views of Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Pompidou Center. The bar serves cocktails and wine.
