Royal Caribbean Unveils Customizable Wedding Program

Royal Caribbean's new Explorer Weddings program allows guest to choose whether they'd like to be married aboard the ship or opt for a wedding at one of the ship's destinations. Couples can exchange vows shore side or by such onboard facilities as the FlowRider surf simulator and the ice-skating rink. Explorer Weddings will debut on Liberty of the Sea's maiden voyage May 19. "More than 15 percent of Americans are choosing a destination wedding instead of a traditional land-based ceremony," said Steve Shaiken, vice president of onboard revenue operations for Royal Caribbean. Explorer Wedding coordinators are also on hand to customize the wedding or vow renewal for the bride and the groom. Call 888-933-7225.
