The Royal Hawaiian Prepares for its Close-Up


The 529-room Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki will reopen January 20, 2009 after an extensive multi-million dollar upgrade. The restored hotel will highlight Oahu’s culture and history with new guest programs, refined service and an elevated ambiance. Guests can look forward to Spa Suites, and a tower within a tower hotel design. The interior design will be less pink— the color long associated with the "Pink Palace of the Pacific," but Royal Hawaiian faves such as the hotel’s private pool cabanas, Hawaiian cultural programs, and historical and tropical garden tours remain in full effect.
