Destination Hotels & Resorts' Royal Palms Resort and Spa recently unveiled a $12 million renovation. The Scottsdale, AZ property added 70 new rooms (bringing the total to 119) surrounding an intimate Montavista--a Mediterranean-style courtyard with tiered garden, reflecting pools and fountains. The company also added a two-bedroom Alvadora Spa Villa and six Alvadora Spa Suites. The Royal Palms Resort and Spa was built as a private estate in 1929 and in the summer of 1997 was reopened after a yearlong renovation. In December 2002, the Alvadora Spa was added.
