Saint Lucia Targets Asian-American Travelers

Bay Gardens Resorts welcomed international television network New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) to Saint Lucia November 23 – 26. NTDTV is broadcast to more than 200 million homes worldwide and was invited in conjunction with Tom Chou, ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) as an effort to promote the islands’ tourism to Asians worldwide.

“At Bay Gardens Resorts, we welcome guests from all different ethnicities and cultures from around the world,” said Bay Garden Resorts’ Managing Director Joyce Destang in a written release. “We value our diverse array of guests, and have a strong repeat clientele. We believe that the Asian market is highly important, and we would like Asians from all over the world to know that Saint Lucia cannot be missed. Bay Gardens Resorts is the ideal location for travelers who want to experience a tropical island destination similar to what is available in Asia Pacific without having to travel halfway around the globe.”

NTDTV spent four days touring the various Bay Gardens Resorts properties and interviewing key tourism officials including Allen M. Chastanet, minister for tourism and civil aviation. The group also toured Saint Lucia visiting Sulphur Springs and Torielle Falls in Soufriere. While in Soufriere, NTDTV enjoyed fine-dining and views at Ladera’s Dasheene Restaurant. Ladera is the original open-air concept resort on the island. Bay Gardens Resorts’ The Dolphins Restaurant served up island cuisine, while the popular Chinese restaurant Memories of Hong Kong was not to be missed in Rodney Bay Village.
