San Diego's Grand Del Mar Resort & Spa to Open October 6, 2007

Setting an unprecedented new standard for luxury, The Grand Del Mar Resort & Spa, a San Diego property owned and operated by Manchester Grand Resorts, is nearing completion, with the opening date set for October 6, 2007. According to Thomas Voss, president of Manchester Grand Resorts, construction on this 249-room resort is progressing at a rapid pace. It is situated next to The Grand Golf Club and the100-acre, boulder-studded Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, featuring the area's only natural waterfall, near the beachfront village of Del Mar, CA.

Inspired by the opulent design style of 1920s architect Addison Mizner, The Grand Del Mar hopes to compete with the region's top luxury resorts, evoking an old-world Mediterranean estate. The resort will begin taking reservations at the end of August with an introductory rate of $450. The travel agent liaison for the property is Sunday Spencer, director of travel industry sales (858-509-4486, [email protected]). Spencer suggests agents make spa as well as golf reservations at time of booking. Call 888-314-2030; or visit [website at www.thegranddelmar.com].
