The Sands at Grace Bay Resort in Turks and Caicos has temporarily closed its doors to begin a $4.5 million resort and restaurant renovation, and it will reopen October 1, 2016. The project, which includes extensive upgrading of guest rooms, enhancements to the resort's common areas and updates to the property’s restaurant, is slated for completion just in time for the holiday travel season.

To celebrate the renovations, The Sands at Grace Bay is offering a savings of up to 25 percent, offering a “stay 3 nights and get the 4th night free” promotion. In addition to the new upgrades and promotions, The Sands is also providing guests with other free resort amenities during their stay, including complimentary use of watersports equipment such as kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, snorkel gear and Hobie Cats, use of bicycles for nearby island exploration, a weekly Manager’s cocktail party, three free-form swimming pools, use of the tennis and basketball courts, free Wi-Fi and more.

Additionally, travel agents will receive a ten percent commission for all bookings made at the resort.

The major transformation of the resort will take place throughout the property’s 114 studio and suite guest rooms. Suites at the resort vary in size, ranging from 1,000-1,600 square feet; guest accommodations currently have full kitchens with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances as well as private, screened-in patios. The upgrades include custom-made patio furniture by Asmayda Furniture Group of Miami, as well as a new luxury bedding collection designed by Atlantic Hospitality. Updates to the resort are being led by interior designer Rose Kelly of Inter Décor, and include new furnishings meant to evoke a casual-modern style and inspired modern-abstract artworks showcasing coastal Caribbean colors.

The Sand’s restaurant, Hemingway’s, is developing a variety of new menu items and new inspired recipes from Chef Alix to be offered seasonally. Enhancements to the restaurant's facilities include expanding the kitchen.
