Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) recently announced the appointment of Scott Ward as director of sales and marketing for the resort. In his new role, Ward’s responsibilities will include shaping and executing all sales and marketing strategies for group and leisure markets; developing new programs to maximize opportunities and exceed revenue goals; management of the public relations and advertising initiatives of the resort; and overseeing the performance management, coaching, recruiting and selection of the sales team.
Ward was director of sales and marketing for Scrub Island Resort prior to its opening in 2010, during which time he secured more than $2.9 million in pre-opening incentive sales and pre-booked 2,800 room nights.
Most recently, Ward served as regional director of sales for RockResorts, where he oversaw wedding and leisure sales for their warm weather collection, including resorts in Costa Rica, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Miami and St. Lucia.
