Singapore Airlines to Fly A380 Between Singapore and Zurich

From March 28, Singapore Airlines’ customers traveling between Singapore and Zurich will fly on the world’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A380.

Daily A380 services between Singapore and Zurich will replace the 12 weekly frequencies between the two cities, which are operated with smaller Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Operations are subject to the airport being certified for A380 flights.

Flights will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 1:10 a.m., arriving in Zurich at 8 a.m. (all times local). On the return leg, the flight will depart Zurich at 12 p.m. and touch down in Singapore at 6:05 a.m. the next day. Detailed flight schedules are listed in the Annex.

Zurich will be the third city in Europe and the seventh in Singapore Airlines’ network to receive the A380. The Airline started operating the superjumbo in October 2007 to Sydney and subsequently added services to London, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Melbourne.

Exclusively available on the Airline’s A380s are the Singapore Airlines Suites, where each Suite is a private cabin with sliding doors. Suites come furnished with fully adjustable leather seats and full-sized beds. Business Class customers sit in 34-inch wide seats, the widest in its class. Each seat has direct aisle access and can be converted into a bed by folding down the seat back.

Singapore Airlines currently has 10 A380s in service, a further nine on firm order and options on six more.
