St. Kitts Tourism Authority Locks Down New Alliances With U.K. Travel Industry

St. Kitts and Nevis destination partners networking with travel industry professionals at a recent U.K. roadshow

St. Kitts and Nevis tourism officials have successfully concluded an intensive promotional drive in the United Kingdom, aimed at raising the profile of the destination amongst the U.K. travel industry to drive visitation and growth for 2015 and beyond.

Supported by a 20-strong delegation, the drive was led by Tourism & International Transport Minister, Richard Skerritt, and Deputy Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley.

The week-long roadshow, which ran from September 29 to October 3, offered a platform for destination partners to build business with tour operators and agents while promoting the exciting new tourism products coming on stream.

The inclusion of Scotland in the program also brought Scottish agents, operators and clients to the attention of St. Kitts for the first time in a unique partnership with Barrhead Travel, one of Scotland's largest and most successful travel agencies.

"As we strive to compete in the global marketplace, this week's initiative is crucial to building partnerships and to better understanding the consumers we want to attract," said Skerritt in a written release. "The inclusion of Scotland as a new market was a fantastic opportunity for our stakeholders, and I thank Barrhead Travel for offering their hospitality to us. As a destination, St. Kitts is going through an exciting transformation in our product development and we are confident that this UK market visit has helped to strengthen our partnerships, which are vital to future growth. St. Kitts and Nevis offer something very special to the consumer who is seeking an authentic island experience complemented by a desire for luxury."
