Starwood Brings aloft to Florida

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and its new lifestyle brand, aloft hotels, part of W Hotels, announced it signed a deal to develop an aloft hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Aloft rooms create a loft-like feel with nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows. Bathrooms feature oversized walk-in showers and amenities by Bliss Spa. The 135-room hotel is part of a mixed-use project, featuring office and retail space, restaurants, and residential units. Construction is expected to begin in late 2007.
