Starwood Brings aloft to Florida

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and its new lifestyle brand, aloft hotels, part of W Hotels, announced it signed a deal to develop an aloft hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Aloft rooms create a loft-like feel with nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows. Bathrooms feature oversized walk-in showers and amenities by Bliss Spa. The 135-room hotel is part of a mixed-use project, featuring office and retail space, restaurants, and residential units. Construction is expected to begin in late 2007. Designed in conjunction with world renowned David Rockwell and the Rockwell group, aloft hotels have atmospheric public spaces. Visit [www.starwoodhotels.com].
