Summer Events in Quebec City

Quebec City is offering a multitude of summer events ranging from Music Festivals to the 200th anniversary of the Martello Towers.  

Quebec City Tourism (QCT) has released its new mobile app for the iPhone.  Available in both French and English, the app allows users to access the information of over 100 restaurants, shops, tourist attractions, activities and events as well as over 300 hotel establishments in Quebec City, Cote-de-Beaupre, Ile d'Orleans, Jacques-Cartier, Portneuf, and Wendake.

Festival d'Opera de Quebec
July 25 - August 5
Newcomers and connoisseurs can partake in the second edition of the opera festival.  Visit www.festivaloperaquebec.com.

Quebec International Sacred Music Festival
September 8 - September 16
Under the direction of Canadian alto Daniel Taylor, the 16th edition of the sacred music festival features eight major concerts, exhibits, seminars and concerts with commentary.  Tickets are available as of June and can be obtained at www.imsq.ca.

Festival Envol et Macadam
September 6 - September 8
The only major city event dedicated to the alternative music scene features talent from Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Morocco, Ireland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea.  The shows and concerts will be held at more than six venues in Lower Town.

Quebec City International Festival of Military Bands

The 200th Anniversary of the Martello Towers

The towers are all that remains of the city's once extensive defense structures. Commemorative activities are held year-round.
