Tauck Announces Return to New Orleans

Tauck World Discovery on Feb. 28 announced that it would resume tours visiting New Orleans and the surrounding region beginning in May. The company is relaunching its Louisiana/Mississippi tour, now named "Southern Charm Along the Mississippi," which includes an optional half-day volunteerism experience in New Orleans. The eight-day program also includes two nights in Memphis, where guests visit Graceland, the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum and the Center for Southern Folklore. Natchez and Vicksburg, MS, are also on the tour. The company says that the New Orleans sites on the Tauck itinerary, such as the French Quarter, escaped physical damage, but they have nonetheless suffered a sharp decline in tourism. The trip starts at $2,190, not including air; there will be departures on May 14 and 21, with five additional departures scheduled for September and October.
