Tennis Greats to Head to Monte-Carlo

The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, a prestegious tennis tournament, will run from April 9 to 17 this year. It's the leading European tournament, opening the season on clay courts. Last year, Spaniard Rafael Nadal became the first player to win an ATP tournament six times in succession.

The full list of players has not yet been disclosed, but we’ve heard names like Nadal, Djokovic, Ferrer and Tsonga mentioned.

Improvements have been made to the reception facilities, including expansion of the VIP Village and the creation of an enclosed area of about 50 parking spaces under the two hard courts of the Monte Carlo Country Club, which have been completely redesigned.

This year there will be an emphasis on "extra courts" activities, with an exhibition match on the Monday for Women's Day between the Danish player Caroline Wozniacki, world number one, and the Italian player Francesca Schiavone, world number four, winner of Roland Garros in 2010.

On Thursday April 14, for the Grand Tennis Night, there will be a performance by the Antonio Najarro Dance Company and Spanish singer Luz Casal.
