Ernest Littles, president of the Tourism Development Company (TDC) of Trinidad & Tobago, resigned Monday, prompting the appointment of Lara M. de Sonpere to the role of interim president.
Sonpere is the divisional manager, legal and administrative, and corporate secretary to the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Company
“The TDC is reviewing its structure to ensure alignment with its mandate and this is expected to be completed within the next two months and in the meantime, Ms. de Sonpere will ensure the entire Trinidad & Tobago team of the TDC as well as the overseas representatives will go forward with their strategic plans,” George Stanley Beard, chairman of the TDC, said in a written statement.
The overseas representatives from the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom have an extremely strong line up of foreign media, including the BBC and CNN, due to arrive in Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival 2011 next week. Further, strategic initiatives in the U.K., Europe and North America are planned and will be announced in the next month.
