According to the latest report from the National Hurricane Center Monday morning, a tropical storm warning remains in effect for the Bahamian islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama.
A tropical storm warning usually means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area. In this case, storm conditions are expected to hit The Bahamas within the next few hours, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical Storm Bret is expected to make a turn toward the north-northeast later today. It is expected to begin moving away from the northwest Bahamas later today. Maximum sustained winds are currently near 50 mph with some strengthening expected within the next 48 hours.
