United Announces Nonstop Service Between San Francisco and Guadalajara, Mexico

United Continental Holdings, Inc. announced Thursday daily nonstop service between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL), beginning June 9, subject to Mexican government approval.

The new service will be operated by Continental Airlines. 

Flight 662 will depart San Francisco at 11:55 p.m. daily, arriving in Guadalajara at 5:35 a.m. the following day.  The return flight (661) will depart Guadalajara at 7 a.m. daily, arriving in San Francisco at 9 a.m. the same day.

The San Francisco – Guadalajara service will be operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with seating for 160 customers (16 in first class and 144 in economy). 

Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest city, is known for its mariachi music and tequila, as well as historic architecture, works of famed mural artist Jose Clemente Orozco, distinctive ceramics and ecotourism. Continental currently serves Guadalajara 38 times weekly from its hub in Houston.
