UPDATE: Hawaii Superferry Begins Voyage to Oahu

Last Thursday, the Alakai, Hawaii Superferry's first vessel for service between the islands of Maui, Kauai and Oahu, left Mobile, AL, for her 16-day journey to Oahu. Hawaii Superferry will connect Hawaii's islands as an alternative to flying. Hawaii Superferry will offer daily service between Maui and Oahu and between Kauai and Oahu six days a week, Sunday through Friday. A second ferry is scheduled for delivery in 2009 with service between the Island of Hawaii and Oahu, as well as a second daily Maui-Oahu roundtrip.
