U.S. Virgin Islands Unveils New Experiences for 2022

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism (Visit USVI) is set to unveil new offerings at the U.S. Travel Association's IPW 2022, to be held from June 4-8 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Visit USVI, which is a sponsor and a participant at the event, will reintroduce the islands of St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas to the U.S. and international markets, while sharing news on destination updates, new openings, events and offerings.

The U.S. Virgin Islands are eager to spread awareness that the destination is more than just a stop on Caribbean cruises. The U.S.V.I. would focus on highlighting the offerings of the islands of St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas, which are full of luxury and cultural experiences, adventure hikes, tasty cuisine and historical sites that provide an engaging experience that goes beyond its pristine beaches.

Among the updates that the U.S.V.I. will be sharing at the event will be news about its latest COVID-related guidelines. Effective June 1, domestic travelers are no longer required to complete the U.S.V.I. Travel Screening Portal to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Federal guidelines and restrictions continue to apply to all international travel, including travel from the British Virgin Islands.

In development news, two new properties—the Westin Beach Resort and Spa at Frenchman’s Reef and The Seaborn at Frenchman’s Reef, an Autograph Collection—will be arriving in St. Thomas this fall following a $350 Million renovation.

At the center of culture, the 68th Celebration of St. John Carnival will return from June 2-July 4. It will be followed by the 70th annual St. Croix Carnival, known as the Crucian Christmas Festival this December.

The U.S. Virgin Islands are considered one of the best sailing grounds in the world. This November, the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association will host the U.S.V.I. Charter Yacht Show

New to the Virgin Islands, the U.S.V.I. DOT recently announced a three-year partnership with Uber Soca Cruise, widely known in the Caribbean as the largest soca fete on the sea.

Visit U.S.V.I. will be a part of the Media Marketplace at IPW, offering a full day of media meetings on Monday, June 6, with full access to destination news via the Online IPW Press Room. Visit U.S.V.I. will also hold a dedicated press conference and host a media brunch with cuisine inspired by the islands to showcase the offering directly at IPW.
