Vietnamese Resort Names New GM

The Life Wellness Resort in Quy Nhon, Vietnam recently appointed Thomas Walter as general manager. Walter replaces Michelle Ford, who left the resort at the end of February. Walter's résumé includes such positions as general manager at Bayview Beach Resort in Myanmar and executive pastry chef at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Walter said the uniqueness of the Life Wellness Resort is what drew him to the job. "We're very isolated on our own stretch of beach," he said. "There are no other hotels around, and the area is beautiful and very natural. If you want to scuba dive and water ski, it's not the place for you, but if you're looking for a peaceful, unspoiled spot to relax with all the amenities of a five-star hotel, the Life Wellness Resort is perfect." Billed as a hideaway retreat on Vietnam's coastline, the resort offers detox programs, meditation classes and yoga on the beach. For reservations, call (84 56) 840-132 or e-mail [email protected].
