Indian destination management company Minar Travels has announced the launch of Vilasa Luxury Travel, a new luxury brand that will specialize in upscale and customizable travel to India.
Vilasa Luxury Travel will work with North American travel agents to provide clients with unique experiences throughout India. Designed to take travelers beyond the conventional tourist paths, Vilasa will pair with agents to create individualized experiences within India and its neighboring countries, while maintaining an emphasis on comfort and high quality standards.
Offering itineraries that will focus on culinary, adventure, sports and spiritual tour programs, as well as inland journeys, Vilasa can provide agents’ clients with authentic luxury train rides or private jet flights, as well as sailing in traditional Kettuvalam and more. Vilasa Luxury Travel said it is prepared to work with agents on creating multiple client itineraries or handling group projects as well.
In addition to the customizable itineraries, agents can choose from one of Vilasa Luxury Travel’s list of sample programs. All fixed programs pay 10 percent commission on published prices. Customized itineraries are priced at net cost, allowing agents to set their own prices with clients.
Samples of fixed programs include the Heritage of India on Wheels (Mahara’s Express), a six-night program that takes guests on an old-time royal train that’s been updated with all modern-day comforts. The train offers wide picture windows, lounges, dining cars, bars, a library and twin and double en suite cabins.
A longer itinerary, Best of West and North India, takes guests on a 17 night excursion through Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Murudeshwara, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Agra and Delhi. Highlights of the fixed program include a visit to the Hilton Shillim Estate Retreat & Spa in Pune, seeing the Raja Gopura Temple and Shiva statue in Murdeshwara, an elevator ride to the top of the Temple and a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khajuraho.
