Virgin Gorda International Airport Reopens

It became a bit easier to visit the British Virgin Islands this month thanks to the reopening of the Virgin Gorda International Airport. The airport restarted operations December 6 and has started accepting flights as the peak travel season approaches for the destination.

The airport has been shuttered since January 2010. For the past 11-plus months, crews have made improvements to the airport in order to bring it into full compliance with Air Safety Support International regulations.

Airlines that fly into and out of Virgin Gorda International Airport include Air Sunshine, Fly BVI, and Island Birds, along with other private and charter aircraft.
