What's Up in Singapore

When it comes to Singapore, at the top our minds have been Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa, two highly anticipated integrated resorts.

Marina Bay Sands will offer convention and exhibition facilities, a luxury hotel with 2,500 rooms and suites, a museum, casino, theaters, entertainment, retal and dining. It is slated to open in April of this year.

Resorts World Sentosa has slowly been opening piece by piece. Upon completion it will house Southeast Asia's first Universal Studios theme park, as well as Marine Life Park, which will be an interactive marine animal facility and aquarium. The resort will also offer six hotels, a casino, a destination spa and much more.

Also Coming Up...

In August of this year Singapore will host the Youth Olympic Games, which will attract both athletes and fans worldwide. The hope is that this will put Singapore on the map as a destination for other major sporting events. a Sports Hub is expected to debut in 2011.

The historic waterfront area will be home to The Fullerton Hertiage precinct, slated to open in early 2010. This area will be a new center for dining, shopping and entertainment. It will include Fullerton Hotel Singapore; The Fullerton Waterboat House; The Fullerton Hotel's sister property, The Fullerton Bay Hotel; Clifford Pier; The Customs House; and One Fullerton.

In 2011 an International Cruise Terminal will open, as well as a Gardens By The Bay project, which will showcase Singapore as a green destination.
