Avanti Destinations has announced several new independent travel programs to Europe for 2013:
For the wine aficionado, Avanti offers a short stay in Germany’s wine country. The three-day “Trier & Mosel River Wine Country” is focused on the historic city of Trier with the wineries of the Mosel River Valley. The scenic valleys along the Mosel River have remarkable dining experiences that can be paired with select local wines. The trip includes two nights’ hotel accommodations, a hop-on/off city tour, entrance to the wine event center where visitors can explore up to 120 select Mosel wines themselves, a winery visit with tasting and lunch, and one dinner.
There is also a seven-day tour of Historical France with a private driver to chauffeur travelers from place to place, as well as a guide to unveil the hidden gems of each area visited. The package includes three nights’ hotel in Paris and three nights in Bayeux or Caen, plus visits to the D-Day landing beaches and the Caen Memorial Museum. Those who wish to travel on their own by rental car instead of the private driver and guide can get a different rate.
The magic of Spain’s historic cities is highlighted in Avanti’s “Culture and Tradition: Madrid, Córdoba, Seville & Granada” nine-day program that includes three nights in Madrid, two nights each in Granada and Seville, and one night in Córdoba. First Class rail with seat reservations is provided between the destinations. City tours are included in Seville and Granada plus a private two-hour city tour in Madrid. Amenities in the package include a dinner in Madrid as well as a Flamenco Show and dinner in Seville.
Travelling “The Way of St. James” in Spain is considered one of the most important pilgrimages in Europe, and was dramatically spotlighted in the recent feature motion picture “The Way”, starring Martin Sheen. The seven-day Avanti program, “The Way of St. James”, includes overnight stays in Sarria, Portomarin, Plas de Rei, Arzua, O Pino and Santiago de Compestala. Included are five dinners, luggage transfers between stays, Pilgrimage Credentials, and an information packet with tips for the journey.
“England in Style: London and the Cotswolds” is a six-day Avanti package providing a pampered trip through some of England’s most iconic villages and in historic London. Included are accommodations for 3 nights in London with a private four-hour city tour along with an afternoon tea, plus two nights in the Cotswolds with a private transfer from London to the hotel and tours of Blenheim Palace, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle.
