Tour operator G Adventures has added an additional 22,000 spaces across 16 of its best-selling tours in 2014 and 2015. This equates to a 37 percent increase in capacity across these itineraries, which the company credits to year-on-year growth of 41 percent in the US market (January to April).
Capacity on South East Asia trips has been increased by up to 85 percent on tours to Vietnam, Laos and Thailand on a Shoestring. Peru, G Adventures' biggest selling destination from the US and number one destination globally, has an increase of 39 percent on its Inca Trail trips, including its classic The Inca Trail itinerary.
Other countries seeing increases in certain departures are Argentina and Brazil (24 percent), Kenya (23 percent) and Costa Rica (13 percent).
The increases take effect from May 2014 and trips include:
- The Inca Trail - One of G Adventures' most popular trips for those looking to combine the cultural highlights of the Sacred Valley with the challenge of one of the world’s best-known hikes.
- Vietnam, Thailand and Laos on a Shoestring - Explore cities, snorkel reefs, shop in Hoi An, float among the karsts of Halong Bay, discover Laos, cruise the Mekong River.
- Costa Rica Adventure – Spot wildlife while cruising through the canals of Tortuguero, search for the elusive quetzal bird, hike through the cloud forest, wander beaches of the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, and savor a local lunch at a Planeterra- and MIF-supported coffee plantation.
