Mount Everest Climber and Adventurer to Address CLIA

Mount Everest climber and adventurer Allison Levine will deliver the keynote address at Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) cruise3sixty conference, June 2-6 in Vancouver. The conference is dedicated to honoring women who have made major contributions to the world of business and the cruise industry. Promising to be another record sellout, registrations for cruise3sixty have already topped 1,300.

Levine served as team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition and skied across the Arctic Circle to the geographic North Pole. In January 2008, she made history as the first American to complete a 600-mile traverse from west Antarctica to the South Pole following the route of legendary explorer Reinhold Messner.

“All of us in the cruise industry pride ourselves on our success in overcoming adversity and challenging times but I cannot imagine anything more inspiring than Alison Levine and her remarkable story of accomplishment,” said Terry L. Dale, CLIA’s president and CEO. I know I speak for the entire industry in saying thank you to our presenting sponsor, American Express, for hosting Ms. Levine and we eagerly await her keynote address at cruise3sixty.”

Levine will speak on Saturday, June 5 during the general session of cruise3sixty at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Over the course of the conference, delegates will have the opportunity to take part in extensive educational programming – 15 CLIA seminars – a massive trade show, diverse and insightful product and destination workshops, dynamic general sessions featuring leaders from the cruise and other industries, and ship inspections.

In addition, cruise3sixty participants have the opportunity to explore Vancouver and British Columbia on a variety of fam trips and excursions and, of course, enjoy the CLIA Hall of Fame Dinner on June 5 recognizing the leaders who have made distinctive contributions to the success of the cruise industry. The internationally acclaimed Blue Man Group, presented by Norwegian Cruise Line, and 42Five, presented by Celebrity Cruises, will perform.
