Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo Panama will be the sixth property in the Sofitel Legend brand. Heather McCrory, CEO North and Central America, Accor said that the hotel will be the brand’s flagship in the region and will debut a luxury hotel offering in Panama. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the hotel is situated in the heart of Casco Viejo, on the former site of the iconic Club Union of Panama. The hotel will have 159 rooms and suites, five food and beverage venues, an oceanfront pool and approximately 9,880 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Signature offerings will include butler service as well as access to the Sofitel Spa and Sofitel Fitness gym. The spa will offer a range of treatments inspired by Panamanian culture. It will also have a tea room and relaxation rooms.

The hotel’s culinary program will be led by a Michelin-star chef, according to the press release. Venues will include Ammi SkyBar, which will have both indoor and outdoor dining and transforms into an exclusive lounge at night. Caleta, the hotel’s bi-level Mediterranean brasserie will have a seafood focus, using fresh local seasonal ingredients. Mayda Lobby Bar & Plaza will offer cocktails and small plates. Guests can either sip and savor in the lobby area or at The Plaza, in a courtyard setting. The hotel will also include a grab-and-go venue, Vera Gourmet Café, a patisserie offering French pastries and Panamanian coffee. The hotel’s Pool Bar will serve fresh juices, handcrafted cocktails and healthy fare.
