Accor to Open New Luxury Hotel in Los Cabos

Another major luxury hotel company is headed to Los Cabos: Accor has announced plans to open a new property under its SO/ Hotels & Resorts brand at the end of 2021.

The SO/ Los Cabos Hotel & Residences will mark the first property for the brand in Mexico and the second in the region. Set on the outskirts of San Jose del Cabo on seven and a half acres of beachfront, lively social events and entertainment will be a main focus of the property.

The new hotel will have 200 guestrooms and 36 luxury residences with beach and ocean views, plus a rooftop experience with two modern Mexican restaurants and a lounge with ocean views surrounded by five swimming pools. Guests will also be able to enjoy an SO/ SPA, offering bespoke treatments inspired by Mexican beauty rituals; access to an 18-hole, Nicklaus Design golf course adjacent to the property; and a fitness center with a glass-bottom pool.

For meetings and events, the new hotel will have 7,500 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor function space, including outdoor event spaces with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The move marks the latest big luxury hotel name to enter Los Cabos. This past May saw the debut of both the Montage Los Cabos, set on the destination’s Golden Corridor, as well as the Viceroy Los Cabos. Looking ahead to this spring, the destination will receive a new Nobu-branded property, and, in May, a new Hard Rock will open its doors.

SO/ Hotels & Resorts is a lifestyle hotel brand with locations in Thailand, Mauritius, Singapore, Berlin, Vienna and St. Petersburg. Other openings are planned in Cuba, Kuala Lumpur, Samui and Jakarta
