The competition among all-inclusive resort companies has engendered a seemingly endless rollout of new promotions, deals and upgraded amenities. Here are some of the latest developments on that front.
AGENT BOOKING SWEEPSTAKES: Sandals Resorts, which recently unveiled new Beachfront Crystal Lagoon suites at Sandals Halcyon Beach in St. Lucia, also has a new Fall In Love Nest Suites sweepstakes for travel agents, running through November 14. Agents who book client stays of five nights or longer for travel now through December 31, 2018, will be entered to win a five-night Love Nest Suite vacation for two. A new winner from the U.S. and Canada will be drawn every two weeks now through November 7.
Agents will receive one entry for any booking made five nights or longer at any Sandals resort, two entries for five nights or more in a Love Nest suite category or higher, and three entries from bookings of that length at the new Sandals Royal Barbados. GROUP DEAL: Travel Impressions has teamed with Palladium Hotels & Resorts to offer groups one complimentary guest for every 10 paid adult guests on bookings received now through December 20, for travel November 1-30, 2017; and January 1 to April 30; July 1 to August 20; or November 1-30, 2018. Groups of 20 or more will receive additional value with one surprise gift for each adult guest, one “Group Appreciation” dinner in a reserved section of an on-property restaurant, and one complimentary room category upgrade for the group leader (subject to availability).
Groups of 20 guests or more arriving at the same time will get private check-in upon arrival. Late check-out for departure is available upon request and subject to availability. Eleven Palladium properties in Punta Cana, Montego Bay, Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit are participating.
A LUXURY REBRAND: Palladium is rebranding its adults-only luxury resorts known as The Royal Suites by Palladium to TRS Hotels. The rebrand includes a fresh, elegant look on property as well as an updated marketing campaign and logo. TRS Hotels is also increasing staff and initiating in-depth training programs to promote customized service, and adding upscale amenities such as swim-up rooms, dinner-and-a-show restaurants and beach clubs.
‘WE WELLNESS EXPERIENCE’: Clients staying at the five-star Luxury Bahia Principe Samaná in the Dominican Republic this winter can take advantage of new WE Wellness Experience, which comprises three pillars: We-Care is a medical esthetic experience that combines non-invasive and incision-free medical and cosmetic treatments such as facial rejuvenation and skin biostimulation. We-Balance is designed to help guests achieve balance of body and mind via Zen Yoga, meditative sessions and anti-stress coaching. We-Train combines martial arts, fitness classes and other athletics with sports nutrition advice, complemented by the assistance of a certified trainer.
Additionally, menus at the resort’s restaurants have been updated to reflect a WE seal next to particular dishes to help guests identify the most nutritious offerings. Guests can arrange for services through the hotel’s WE Ambassador, who will be devoted exclusively to informing and guiding guests interested in the WE Wellness Experience.
The Dominican Association of Tour Operators (ADOTUR) and the Dominican Republic’s Popular Bank recently named Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts 2017’s Hotel Chain of the Year. In addition to the Samaná property, the hotelier has resorts in La Romana, Rio, San Juan and a seven-property complex in Punta Cana, as well as hotels in Jamaica, Mexico and Spain.
