Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa Opens in Arizona

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa has celebrated its official opening.

The new resort is set on 23 acres at the base of Camelback Mountain, five minutes from Old Town Scottsdale. Sporting a mid-century modern design that pays homage to famous artists and designers who have drawn their inspiration from the desert, the resort has 201 bungalow-style guest rooms and suites, the bathrooms of which all have skylights and large showers. Accommodations also have front terraces with Spanish style banco seating and open into communal courtyards with meandering pathways.

In partnership with Cattle Track, a nearby artist community founded in the 1930s, the resort’s artist-in-residence program allows guests to interact with the local craftsman to learn about painting, pottery and photography techniques, both on-property and in the artists’ personal Cattle Track studios.

For dining, the Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen aims to highlight innovative plancha cooking techniques by Executive Chef Adam Sheff (formally of Park Hyatt New York) showcasing the combination of an urban culinary experience with traditional Sonoran inspired flavors and local ingredients. The restaurant’s glass box exhibition kitchen includes a chef’s table.

For relaxation, the Palo Verde Spa & Apothecary offers four indoor and three outdoor treatment rooms, outdoor hydro therapy pools, eucalyptus steam rooms, a nail and hair salon and more.
