Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, has named Michael B. Hoffmann new managing director, following the resort’s recent $150-million, property-wide renovation. With four decades of luxury expertise as a hotelier, Hoffmann is bringing his long-standing passion for the hospitality industry to the upgraded property.

Hoffmann will oversee general operations and development of the legendary resort, informed by his extensive industry tenure and a diploma of hotel administration from Lausanne Hotel School in his homeland of Switzerland. Hoffmann’s vast experience in hospitality includes stints at the Four Seasons Resort in Dallas, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Resorts, The Peninsula Group in New York, Hong Kong and California, Bacara Resort and Spa, and Ocean Club, Paradise Island. Hoffmann was also notably appointed Hilton’s vice president of brand performance, in which he oversaw the rapid expansion of the luxury portfolio, including Conrad and Waldorf Astoria properties. Most recently, he served as managing director for the Inn at Perry Cabin.

With Hoffmann at the helm of operations for the newly renovated resort, Arizona Biltmore is primed for a successful new era in its celebrated history. The 94-year-old property continues to bestow views of Phoenix Mountain Preserve, coupled with 705 guestrooms and refreshed standalone luxury cottages, 200,000 square feet of meeting space, and its newly unveiled Tierra Luna Spa and Sol Garden.
