Baha Mar to Host Baha Mar Cup Fundraiser for Dorian Relief

Baha Mar has announced its first-ever Baha Mar Cup, a tennis fundraising event happening at the resort from Thursday, November 7 to Sunday, November 10 to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian across The Abacos and Grand Bahama. It will be attended by notable players, including Andy Roddick, Mark Knowles, Tommy Haas and James Blake.

The Baha Mar Cup will include a Pro-Am tournament where tennis legends will face off against devoted fans, exhibition matches with appearances from surprise celebrities and Baha Mar’s first official UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) tournament. All events will be held throughout Baha Mar Racquet Club’s nine tennis courts, which includes hard, har-tru clay and grass surfaces.

The schedule of weekend’s events follows:

Thursday, November 7                 

  • 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Baha Mar Cup Futures UTR Tournament

Friday, November 8                       

  • 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Baha Mar Cup Futures UTR Tournament
  • 7:00 p.m., Welcome Reception & Silent/Live Auction

Saturday, November 9                  

  • 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Baha Mar Cup Futures UTR Tournament
  • 10:00 a.m. – 12 p.m., Youth Tennis Clinic for Nassau Children hosted by Mark Knowles
  • 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Celebrity Tennis “Play with the Pros”
  • 3:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Celebrity Tennis Exhibitions
  • 7:00 p.m., Farewell Dinner

All proceeds and winnings from The Baha Mar Cup will be allocated to Hurricane Dorian’s victims in addition to long-term support for the communities in the Abacos and Grand Bahama.

Since Hurricane Dorian’s impact on The Abacos and Grand Bahama, Baha Mar has encouraged guests, friends and the communities to donate directly at www.BahaMar.com/Dorian. Additionally, Baha Mar urges all attendees to #PackWithLove and bring an item or two to be shared directly with victims of Hurricane Dorian. Articles can include clothing, shoes, baby items, books, educational supplies, stuffed animals and small toys. Baha Mar has given $2 million to immediate disaster relief and long-term recovery for the islands thus far.
