Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has unveiled three revamped segmented “Experiences,” now offering distinct activities, entertainment and food and beverage options. Also, beginning December 23, couples can opt for a new Romantic wedding package that includes perks for intimate ceremonies.
Bahia Principe’s 'Treasure Experience' hotels are situated in locales where natural surroundings allow travelers to connect with the environment and themselves. Activities emphasize local culture and include arts and crafts workshops, live music and cultural shows. For the health conscious, an increased selection of wellness options awaits, including a culinary offering that highlights natural ingredients and a line-up of fitness classes including yoga, tai chi and Pilates. Each property now provides an on-site Treasure Ambassador that will help personalized the wellness experience.
Three of the brand’s Treasure Experience hotels are in Samaná in the Dominican Republic. Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, the brand’s flagship property, is the only hotel on the island of Cayo Levantado, and it is reachable only by the brand’s private ferry. Located in a Dominican village, Bahia Principe Samana and Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa overlook the region’s hills, cays and Samaná Bay. The last Treasure Experience hotel, the Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an, is in Mexico's Riviera Maya.
For adults only, the Escape Experience provides entertainment options and culinary experiences created especially for adults. The programming includes full moon parties on the beach, shows, a silent disco, and live jazz music at the bar. A heightened cuisine offering blends the latest gastronomy and mixology trends and includes wine pairing menus, gourmet events and cocktail workshops. Each property also has a personal trainer and offers group fitness activities like Cross Fit, aqua spinning and Zumba. Two Escape Experience properties are in Playa Bavaro, Punta Cana, including the brand’s newest hotel, the 528-room Bahia Principe Ambar, which has 144 swim-up suites that give guests access to a new private pool surrounded by the hotel’s gardens. Next door, Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine offers the Escape Experience at a more approachable price point, the company says. Guests of each property also have access to a new sports bar and fitness center.
The Family & Friends Experience offers activities and amenities catered to guests of all ages. Entertainment includes evening shows and parties for the whole family, gastronomic workshops and kids & teens clubs ideal for younger travelers. Group activities include aerobics, running and sports tournaments. Also, guests at Family & Friends Experience hotels have access to dining in all of the properties’ restaurants. These experiences are available at the Fantasia Bahia Principe Punta Cana and the Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo, which is located in Samaná and offers family friendly suites overlooking the region’s natural sites. The hotel also keeps younger travelers in mind with tailored amenities, including kid-size bathrobes, bath kits and a specialized minibar with age-appropriate drinks.
Additionally, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts offers couples the opportunity to craft their dream beachfront wedding at the brand's hotels in Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica. The new Romantic weddings package is for more intimate ceremonies of up to 10 guests. Like all Bahia Principe wedding packages, couples will be assigned a dedicated wedding planner that will assist with every detail. The package includes wedding location set-up and a floral centerpiece, a bridal bouquet and groom's boutonniere, music for the ceremony on a portable device – with the perfect playlist selected by the couple – a wedding cake, and a semi-private sit-down dinner reception at a specialty restaurant with a set menu. Special perks for the couple are also included: a chef's specialty served in the room on the wedding night, breakfast in bed the morning after, late check-out and complimentary room upgrades, subject to availability. The rate for the package is $450 and, for an additional fee, couples will also have access to witnesses for a legal wedding.
Apart from Romantic, there are five other wedding packages available, with perks ranging from a Moet Chandon celebratory toast to a one-hour cocktail and canape reception, private dinner and two hours of open bar, a mani/pedi for the bride, Romantic VIP Spa massage or 20 percent discounts on spa treatments. Available themes include Vintage, Glamour and Blue Marine.
