Barceló Maya Riviera to Open December 15

The Barceló Maya Riviera has announced that it will open December 15. The new adults-only, all-suite resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya will mark the latest addition to the Barceló Maya Grand Resort complex, joining Barceló Maya Palace, Barceló Maya Beach, Barceló Maya Caribe, Barceló Maya Colonial and Barceló Maya Tropical. In December, the resort complex will also open the Barceló Maya Arena, which the company says will represent the largest convention center and meetings inventory in the region. A combined investment of $250 million dollars has been allocated to this expansion project.

Barceló Maya Riviera will have 850 Junior Suites and Suites, more than half of them with ocean views and more than 100 of which will be swim-up. All suites will have hot tubs on their balconies, as well as minibars with free daily refills of snacks and drinks and double or super king-sized beds.

Cuisine at the resort’s specialty restaurants will include Mexican, with a “Tacoyaki” bar, French fine dining, Italian and Japanese, including 10 teppanyaki tables and one robatayaki table for fireside cooking. There will also be a buffet restaurant with international cuisine available during breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus five bars serving cocktails, wine, beer and appetizers, including a poolside bar and a lobby bar.

Additionally, guests at the Barceló Maya Riviera will be able to enjoy the amenities at the other five resorts in the complex, for a total of 22 restaurants, 10 pools, three theaters, three water parks, a bowling alley and the new Ventura Fly & Ride Park

Finally, the new Barceló Maya Arena convention center will have a capacity of up to 8,000 attendees in more than 190,000 square feet of customizable multi-purpose space for expos, conventions and events. There will be a 3,400-square-foot terrace for outdoor receptions, as well as a dining venue on the lower level. For wedding planners, beach receptions at Playa Azul will offer ocean views.
