The Belmond Cadogan Hotel in London is opening early 2019 and to celebrate, the hotel has announced a special offer available only to guests who reserve their stay through an advisor affiliated with global luxury travel network Virtuoso. Travelers who book from February 1 to April 30, 2019 will receive a guaranteed suite upgrade at the time of their reservation upon availability. Belmond Cadogan Hotel will be located on Sloane Street, positioned between Chelsea and Knightsbridge. The $48 million project will restore the heritage of the Queen Anne Revival property, dating from 1887, while fully renovating the property in a contemporary style.
Belmond Cadogan Hotel has played a role in the cultural history of the Kensington and Chelsea area, and it will draw inspiration from the neighborhood’s character, offering a meeting place for both guests and the local community. The hotel’s connections include explorer and scientist Sir Hans Sloane, writer Oscar Wilde, and actress Lillie Langtry.
The hotel will have 54 rooms, two-thirds of which are suites, some with original fireplaces. Each guest will have access to a discreet entrance from 21 Pont Street, so the hotel may be used as a private residence; guests are offered a key so they can come and go quietly. Belmond Cadogan Hotel faces a private garden that guests can visit as an escape in the heart of Chelsea, where they can enjoy a picnic or play tennis.
The property also offers a 24-hour fitness suite, spa suite with a range of treatments, and library. Young guests can enjoy dedicated menus, in-room amenities such as bathrobes and games, and family-friendly suggestions from the concierge.
Executive Chef Adam Handling will showcase contemporary British cuisine that honors tradition and local provenance. The main restaurant will have an open kitchen providing a window onto the chef’s theater. The Bar and Terrace, accessed directly from Pont Street, will offer drinks and lighter bites. The Tea Lounge will offer Handling’s specially crafted tea service.
Belmond Cadogan Hotel is the brand’s first and only hotel in London, complemented by the brand’s existing UK portfolio including the Belmond British Pullman vintage day train based out of London Victoria Station, Belmond Royal Scotsman sleeper train and Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.
