Big Mountain Resort Changes Name to Whitefish Mountain Resort

Winter Sports President and CEO Fred Jones on Wednesday said the company is launching a new branding and positioning initiative for Big Mountain Resort in Montana. By changing its name to Whitefish Mountain Resort, the hope is to drive awareness to the hotel's namesake historic railroad town where the resort was founded in 1947. The resort also is launching a set of initiatives aimed at delivering and enhancing the guest experience, including products, services, employee actions, facility design and amenities. Within the past year, the company invested $20 million into a new Day Lodge, two high-speed quad chairlifts, a new beginner-skier area with a Magic Carpet and new beginner chairlift, and other amenities. Whitefish Mountain Resort opens for summer season June 20 through September 3. It will reopen for its 60th winter season December 8 through April 6, 2008. Visit [www.whitefishmountainresort.com].
