Cayo Levantado Resort in the D.R. to Reopen in Q2 2023

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has announced that Cayo Levantado Resort in the Dominican Republic is scheduled to reopen on June 1, 2023. This rebranded and renovated property is located on the island of Cayo Levantado, just a few miles from Samaná Bay.

With this project as its flagship, Bahia Principe evolved its business and entered the luxury hotel management segment with the aim of improving its offer and adding value to the tourism sector. One of the strengths behind Cayo Levantado is its cultural impact, which was achieved by incorporating talent from the Dominican Republic, thus contributing to and enhancing the economic and social development of the area.

The island of Cayo Levantado has three sandy and palm-fringed beaches, one of which is open to the public, while two are exclusively for resort guests.

Under the concept “A Rhythm All Its Own,” Cayo Levantado invites guests to discover the creative and architectural design of the resort, which will be based on three pillars:

  • Local culture – Local interior designers, architects and professionals took part in the development of the area, above all by integrating their local culture in all areas, including gastronomy and mixology
  • Sustainability – Waste management strategies and renewable energy through a bio-digester will be implemented, making this a self-sufficient property. Additionally, gardening, and landscaping with native species of the island will be used
  • Wellness – Promoted in a more integrative perspective, the wellness experience will be reflected in all spaces and services

Cayo Levantado Resort has more than 200 rooms in different categories, two swimming pools, two spas (including a jungle spa), an outdoor CrossFit area, a beach club, a personal training studio, a wellness area, a salon and a botanic garden. As part of the all-inclusive gastronomic offer, guests can choose from three à la carte restaurants, one buffet restaurant, four bars and a coffee shop. Two additional specialty restaurants give visitors the option to dine outside the all-inclusive offerings. A range of entertainment activities are also available.
