Colonial Beach & Spa Names New General Manager

Luigi Di Ciaccio has been appointed general manager of the 50-room luxury Casa Colonial Beach & Spa in Puerto Plata, as recently announced by Executive Vice President of VH Hotels & Resorts, Roberto Casoni.

For the past eight years, Di Ciaccio has held general manager positions at two noted Italian resort properties, Hotel Serapo and La Reserve Hotel and Destination Spa, honing his experience managing destination properties. “My objective for Casa Colonial for the next two years is to confirm its position not only as the best hotel in the Dominican Republic, but also as the best spa,” Di Ciaccio told Travel Agent. “I want to give Bagua Spa the importance that it deserves by promoting not only the beauty of the facility, but above all, the quality of service provided by our staff. To achieve this, I have created new week and weekend programs and packages to provide guests with a complete experience.”

As general manager, Di Ciaccio is charged with overseeing all hotel operations, which include food and beverage outlets, the fitness center and the Bagua Spa. “I also plan to be very active in the sales and marketing of Casa Colonial Beach & Spa,” Di Ciaccio says, “meeting with travel agents, tour operators and wholesalers to consolidate old alliances and to build new, long-lasting ones.” Visit
