Millennials will not have to look hard to find the coolest feature of “The Tank,” the signature pool of the Golden Nugget Las Vegas, as it houses a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium as its centerpiece.
And if that isn't cool enough, the aquarium surrounds a waterslide that allows adventurous guests to speed through it.
The $30-million, three-story complex is home to five species of sharks and various game fish. The Tank is home to sandtiger sharks, brown sharks, Pacific blacktip sharks, nurse sharks and a zebra shark. There are also southern stingrays and a wide variety of large game fish in the colorful reef habitat. In fact, The Tank was recently included in Travel Agent's "Cool Pool of the World" contest.
The Tank offers three live gaming tables; seventeen private cabanas, featuring personal LED televisions and refrigerators; daybeds and a retail kiosk. Cabanas and daybeds may be rented year-round and rates and availability may vary depending on season and day of week.
Weekly "Shark Tank Tours" are available Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. This behind-the-scenes tour is conducted by a dedicated staff of marine biologists who show the inner workings of the aquarium. Guests are given the opportunity to learn what the sharks and fish dine on, how the feeding process works, and leave with a souvenir shark tooth.
At H20 at The Tank, Millennials can sip on signature mixed and frozen cocktails while cooling down at the pool or warming up at the fire pit. Advisors should note that The Tank is available for private, pool-side parties and events.
The Golden Nugget now offers more than 2,400 deluxe guest rooms and suites; a casino featuring the most popular slot and video poker machines, table games, race and sports book, and poker room; restaurants such as Grotto Italian Ristorante, Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse, Claim Jumper and Cadillac Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar and a luxury spa and salon. Since 2005, the Golden Nugget Las Vegas has made more than $300 million
